The current project is implemented under the Communication Strategy for the Accession of Bulgaria to the European Union. The project goal is to organize and to hold 6 meetings of the Club of Diplomats-economists (CoDe) with government representatives and high government officials /ministers/deputy ministers/directors of agencies, etc.). This will provide better information for the representative of foreign embassies about the readiness of Bulgaria and the work carried out by the Government of Bulgaria for fulfilling the engagements in relation to our EU membership. At these meetings the special guest will be invited to present the policy of the government in a particular policy area, in the context of our forthcoming EU membership, and the work done in this area in order to meet the requirements related to our engagements. Through these meetings the members of the CoDe (who are economic and commercial counselors in the foreign diplomatic missions to Sofia) will be informed in details about the state, the programmes and activities, undertaken by the corresponding ministries in fulfilling the particular requirements in their areas of work, and will be informed about the real state of affairs in the sector, significant for Bulgaria’s accession process. Thus, in an atmosphere of informal but professional discussions, the diplomats will ask questions and receive answers to their questions, which will enable them to better understand and know Bulgaria, its efforts and resolution to achieve the engagements resulting from the negotiations and as a future EU member, in implementation of the Lisbon Agenda goals.
In cooperation with the corresponding governmental institution the project team will develop and provide a written press release for the media, and a material, which will be presented before the Club members, and after that – will be published on the websites of the corresponding institution, on CED’s website and on the business portal www. econ.bg.
